As a hub of entrepreneurial activity, we're home to the Women's Business Center, the Mid-America Angels and the Women’s Capital Connection angel investment networks, and the Growth Mentoring Service and the LaunchU entrepreneurial programs.

Whether you need help determining where to start or you’re working on growing your business, we are a valuable resource in helping entrepreneurs and startups navigate the many resources available to them. Capital
The Mid-America Angels (MAA) is a network of nearly 150 accredited angel investors and the Women's Capital Connection (WCC) has 40+ women investor members in its network. Our network of members are located in Kansas and Missouri and seek exceptional investment opportunities with the potential for high returns. While MAA and WCC are professionally managed by our staff, each angel investor member makes his or her own investment decisions.

Consulting
The Women’s Business Center offers a variety of programs and services for entrepreneurs who have an idea, want to test the feasibility of it and potentially develop it into a business. We have one-on-one business consultations by appointment or referral for anyone looking to start, manage or grow a business. In addition, online workshops and seminars are free to the general public and available through our YouTube channel. Businesses Grow Here.

Our programs are designed specifically for each level of entrepreneur — whether a micro entrepreneur, a start up, a business seeking certification, a growing small enterprise or on track for equity funding — we have the workshops and education that's right for you, when you are ready.

Mentoring
Our Growth Mentoring Service and Women Lead Initiative are designed with strong entrepreneurial leadership top of mind. GMS is a program modeled after the established and highly recognized MIT VMS mentoring program, which connects experienced entrepreneurs with a team of skilled volunteer mentors. WLI takes the next step knowing leading isn't just running a company or managing a group of people, it's a mindset for success with a work life balance. Successful leaders possess common traits that they exhibit consistently. We have the the education and resources entreprenuers need to be great leaders.

Networking
We have a strong understanding of the importance of networking with peers at all levels, so we've designed several networking opporunities — from WE-Connect cocktail hours to Dolphin Tank pitch events to Venture Lounge — all of which are designed with entreprenuers and their networking needs in mind.
